Overview

Unlike other universities and/or clubs, many students do not treat ESWGuelph as another course for which they must dedicate time to do work. In previous semesters, students sporadically attended meetings which made it difficult to continue projects as members were not very committed. For the duration of semester Spring 2020 officers revamped the meeting schedule. The schedule for the semester was agreed upon by the officers during the first week of the semester and the schedule was posted around the engineering building where the meetings take place (schedule on reusable posters - laminated paper and dry-erase markers). The schedule designated each general meeting as an event or workshop and as a result, attendance increased and remained more consistent. Workshops such as plant propagating and homemade deodorant making receiving high attendance. This strategy encouraged membership from greater numbers of engineering and non-engineering students and therefore the strategy will continue in the future.
